We’ve handled a lot of motorcycle cases, and we like to work on them. One of the more significant ones we handled involved a gentleman on a motorcycle. He was driving at about 35 miles an hour in a neighborhood, and it was 7:00 at night in the summer. A utility company was stringing a wire across the road. They didn’t have any flaggers. They didn’t have any cones. They didn’t have any warning.
The wire was black. This gentleman hit the wire, it slipped him off the motorcycle, and he was flown to Cleveland Clinic for treatment. He died—all as a result of the utility company stringing a wire without any warning to the people driving on the roadway. We did settle the case for millions of dollars as a result of a successful mediation conducted through the federal court.
